PT TOMORROW: NL East—Help is on the way for MIA rotation

Reinforcements for the starting rotation are expected to arrive soon. Jarred Cosart (RHP, MIA), Jose Fernandez (RHP, MIA), and Henderson Alvarez (RHP, MIA) could all be back within the next few weeks.

Cosart, who has been out for several weeks due to vertigo, is scheduled to make another minor league rehab start on June 23. If all goes well, his next start could be with Miami.

Fernandez was slated to start minor league rehab games on June 22 and June 27. If those starts come off without a snag, the team anticipates he’ll start for Miami on July 2.

Alvarez began a throwing program about two weeks ago. He has been on the disabled list since May 22 with right shoulder inflammation. There is no concrete timetable for his...
