Behind that trio, Steven Matz (LHP, NYM) is an injury risk (165 IL days last three years), but has shown the skills to succeed when healthy. The fifth starter, Jason Vargas (LHP, NYM), has been even more injury-prone (231 IL days last three years) and inconsistent. Who are the candidates to hold down the fort if push comes to shove?
