The Reds were expected to welcome Scott Schebler (OF, CIN) back to their active roster August 25. Going forward, Schebler will most likely be found in right field, playing alongside two surging players, Billy Hamilton (OF, CIN) and Phillip Ervin (OF, CIN).

As noted in this space last week, Ervin had already begun to push past Preston Tucker (OF, CIN) and Mason Williams (OF, CIN) for playing time, his handedness notwithstanding. Steadier playing time has agreed with Ervin over the last month, as he has hit the ball with authority (119 HctX, 155 PX, 133 xPX) while also offering a bit of speed.
