The Diamondbacks’ trade deadline activity was underwhelming, with Lars Nootbaar serving as the organization’s one real addition. While Arizona fans may be disappointed by the acquisition of the oft-injured outfielder, there continue to be intriguing aspects of Nootbaar’s hitting tool that can be of interest to fantasy managers.
Though just a .241 hitter for his career, his career 91 mph EV is impressive, and he also consistently reaches a maxEV of 113+ (in fact, he’s done so in four of his last five seasons, despite often battling injuries). He has also had HH% around 50% each of the last three seasons, and his QBaB ratings over that period support the high HH-rate (QBaBs of ADd in 2024, ABf in 2025, and ADc...
