Presumably, few are feeling sorry for the Dodgers, but it’s striking how much the team has struggled to find a lockdown closer over recent seasons, especially considering how much money Dodgers brass has committed to the position. Now, Edwin Díaz has once again hit the IL, presumably for neck inflammation, but maybe to give him some time to regain some confidence after struggling mightily since his late July return from the IL (this time for an elbow surgery to remove loose bodies). L.A. now turns once again to Tanner Scott to close out games.
