We are focusing on the Mets' St. Lucie team this week, in Low A, where they do not have much in the way in big names other than a huge bonus recent international signing. The Mets have a talented system, but most of their best prospects are above the Low A level.
Elian Peña (SS, New York Mets, 18 years old)
Elian Peña is the big prospect on this team, a LHH infielder who signed in 2025 out of the Dominican Republic for $5M, the second-largest signing bonus in that 2025 international class. Peña is firmly built, at a thick 5’10”, 180 pounds listed, with clear room to add weight as he grows, possibly taking him off SS.
