Eflin among best options for Thursday openers

Today's Overview/Schedule/Weather: Most of the Major League Baseball gets cranked up on this final Thursday in March. Mother Nature may not be all-in on the March start, though. Two games have already been postponed (MIL at NYM, ATL at PHI), and a third (LAA at BAL) could be in jeopardy. The Matchup Ratings, of course, open strong with top hurlers—backed by full-strength bullpens—being lined up to take the mound.

 

Notable Starts:

Zach Eflin faces the Toronto Blue Jays. Eflin is coming off a breakout season with a 23% K-BB and 3.26 xERA. In 18 starts at home, he clocked a 3.30 ERA while posting an excellent strikeout-to-walk ratio. He’s held current TOR batters to a .587 OPS.
