Today's Overview/Schedule/Weather: Eleven games are on the slate for the first Thursday in August. The eight teams with off days are ATL, BOS, CLE, COL, DET, SD, TAM, and WAS. The short schedule and the tumble of rotations has top-notch talent in short supply, and Thursday’s Matchup Ratings reflect that. Only four pitchers have a rating of 1.5 or better. Five of the day’s 11 games will be daytime affairs, and it all gets underway with an early 12:10 p.m. ET contest in South Florida (PHI-MIA). Weather won’t come into play in that (likely) domed affair between the Phils and Fish, and it may not be much of a factor in any of the 11 battles across the MLB map.
